The Restaurant Facility Management Association (RFMA) conference is the premier annual event for restaurant facility management professionals to gather with peers, vendors and other industry-shapers under one big roof. This year, the event ran for three days in Phoenix, Arizona, with each day packed with learning opportunities, networking events and an expo floor that held over 400+ exhibitors.
A New Year, A New Look
ServiceChannel unveiled our latest trade show display. The 20x20 booth provided six unique facilities software demo stations featuring service automation capabilities and innovative functionality within the platform, including analytics, invoice management, work order management, and mobile technology. We even had a ping-pong table where the ServiceChannel team challenged RFMA attendees.
Attendees stopped by the booth to learn more about how our new asset tagging and asset management capabilities are revolutionizing facilities management. Our enhanced Asset Manager improves visibility into assets, including warranty, history, and equipment health details. And now with asset tagging, enabled by IoT technology, customers may keep track of equipment across multiple locations, while making it easy to manage asset-based work orders. Check out the press release for full details.
As our CEO Tom Buiocchi stated:
“Streamlining operations and increasing efficiency is a never-ending journey, and there’s no doubt that a technology-first approach to facilities management is a key factor for success...Automating the management of valuable assets allows facilities managers to unlock the next level of efficiencies, including warranty claims, better repair or replace decisions and asset-driven work orders.”
Using FM Technology and Analytics to Work Smarter
On Tuesday, March 6, Sid Shetty, ServiceChannel’s VP of Marketplace Strategy participated in an education session with ServiceChannel customer, Panda Restaurant Group Executive Director of Facilities, Roger Goldstein. The session, How Technology and Analytics Enable All Restaurant Chains to Work Smarter, outlined how Panda Restaurant Group and RPM Pizza are utilizing facilities management solutions, business intelligence, and machine learning in a way that hides complexity but powers big results.
As part of the discussion, Panda’s Goldstein addressed how it keeps a decentralized team - across 2,000 locations - working efficiently and on the same page, while RPM discussed how a local franchisee is able to gain new and invaluable insight into their storefront by using these various technologies.
Don’t Sell Yourself Short - FMs Play a Key Role
Sid Shetty shared a valuable insight with the group - facilities managers are an integral part of the profitability of a brand. If a restaurant is in poor condition (run-down appearance, bad lighting, odors, etc.) customers will either assume the company is going out of business or simply does not value the customer experience. This can lead to negative word of mouth, potential rumors and eventually result in significant loss of business.
He also highlighted how, by implementing a service automation platform, restaurant facilities managers are able to efficiently manage all repair and maintenance for all their locations from a single dashboard.
